Company Tyco Electronics EC Trutnov s.r.o.

is a part of the American Tyco Electronics Ltd., which was established after the re-organization from the original holding and which, as the new company, entered the New York Stock Exchange on 11th July 2007. It follows the 60-year tradition of design and production of electronic items for thousands of customers from the whole world. The company offers over 500.000 types of products from components to systems for automotive, aircraft, military and other industries, for telecommunications, power industry, IT industry and consumer electronics.

The slogan of nearly 100.000 employees contributing to development, production and sales is “Our commitment. Your advantage.”, which strengthens professionalism and involvement of everybody to meet the requirements of the customers.

In the Trutnov “Tyco”, we have been manufacturing a wide spectrum of electrotechnical products in the facilities in the centre of the town and since 2003 also in Poříčí. Fully automatic assembly lines of communication and network relays, semi-automatic and manual productions of connectors and manual assemblies of resistors are located in the manufacturing area in the centre. Our competitive advantage is own production of moulded plastic and metal basic industrial parts and a tool-making shop that is fully competitive and can produce tools and single-purpose machines, modules and whole production lines. In the facility in Poříčí, plastic processing technologies prevail. In addition to the production of wires for the automotive industry, we are specialized in the pressed parts from materials with shape memory for cable systems of transport means and machines and high-voltage distribution networks. The range of goods includes protective and identification items for cables and cable systems. Thanks to the successes of our team concerning the transfers of production from foreign countries and implementation of new products, the need of other production areas has been increasing continually. Since 2004, we have built four new production halls in Poříčí with the floor area of 10.000 m2. Two latest ones were opened in autumn 2007. The total investment in the said year exceeded 250 mil. CZK, while for 2008 we plan min. 350 mil. CZK.

The continually improving strategic position of Trutnov within Tyco Electronics is confirmed by the increase of the number of employees. With the current 1.200 employees, we are the biggest employer in the region, while in 2002, we employed less than 600 people and only in the relay productions. The increase has been facilitated by the transfer of productions from England, Germany, Austria, Ireland and Spain and by increasing capacity of the current products and implementing new ones. The key products include extremely growing production of connectors for solar panels and other projects in the segment of connectors. Further to that, expansion of the capacity of the lines for the installation of network relays. Mastering all technologies of production of heat shrinkable tubes and components also plays an important role. We increase capacities and thanks to new technologies also competencies of the production team when moulding basic plastic and metal industrial parts and machining on the CNC automatic machines. Thanks to projects and already implemented productions, we increased the turnover to 3.7 bln. CZK in 2007 in comparison with 2.5 bln. CZK in 2006. The challenge for our current team and everybody who comes to strengthen it is the planned turnover of at least 4.5 bln. CZK in 2008.

The spectrum of mastered high-tech technologies, products and professions is very wide; it is extended with each new project and forms a good base of the future development of the firm. On purpose, we strengthen our key position within the mother division as the biggest plant in the whole Europe.

Our strategy is to increase pro-actively and self-confidently responsibility for the top level of production in all parameters, reliability and competence in logistics and expand competences in design and production of single-purpose machines and production lines. We built a new group co-operating in the development of connectors and relays with foreign teams.

As a company, which has been growing in all respects in the long-term, we have been looking for new co-workers, especially those with technical qualification and experience in the field for the current productions and other projects.
